The Philips concern was founded in 1891 by engineer brothers Gerard and Anton Philips, who opened a small factory in Eindhoven producing light bulbs with 10 workers and a daily output of 100–200 lamps. Over time, the company grew into a major manufacturer of consumer electronics, including radios, televisions, and compact discs.
In the early 2000s, Philips began shifting its focus toward the healthcare sector and has since transformed into a company specializing in medical technologies. Its main business areas include medical diagnostics (such as imaging and ultrasound equipment), digital healthcare solutions, personal care products for home use, and household appliances.
Philips is a global brand with products available in more than 100 countries worldwide.
