Про вендора
На початку 1960-х років у токійському Музеї мистецтв «Бріджстоун» куратор Хідео Мацусіта влаштовував концерти з прослуховування платівок, на яких люди знайомилися з вініловими записами, відтвореними на високоякісному аудіообладнанні. Мацусіта був зворушений позитивною реакцією гостей на музику, але був засмучений тим, що через дорожнечу прослуховування платівок багато людей не могли випробувати їх на собі.
Заснована в 1962 році
У 1962 році Мацусіта заснував компанію Audio-Technica з метою створення високоякісного аудіо для всіх. Дотримуючись цього бачення, він незабаром створив перший справді доступний фонокартридж AT-1 у невеликій квартирі компанії в Сіндзюку, Токіо.
