A Company with a History After the end of the war, former soldier and trained construction worker Hans Liebherr recognized the urgent need for mobile, more maneuverable machinery to rebuild destroyed cities. Traditional cranes did not meet the requirements of confined construction sites, so the engineer and inventor developed a fundamentally new solution — the TK-10 mobile crane. The innovative machine quickly gained professional recognition and was awarded at the Mustermesse exhibition in Frankfurt am Main. Liebherr-International AG remains a family-owned company to this day. The headquarters are located in Bulle, Switzerland. In-house production was launched in Ochsenhausen, Germany, and by 1954 the first factory had begun operations.
